VIOLATIONS OF DIGNITY .

One size does NOT fit ALL

I understand that in some cases , people of my age (60) or less may need diapers and constant help getting dressed and taking showers, or just walking back and forth to the rest room every day and night. But I AM NOT one of those.

I have fought my way back from 2 heart surgeries and a stroke that paralyzed the whole left side of my body for 3 months after.
I'm not 100 % but I'm very proud of how far I have come.
I don't walk really well, because the stroke has left me with a balance problem that causes nausea if I am walking to long.  I will be taking more therapy and practicing as much as possible.
My point is , that I am able to do most things myself if I'm careful enough to fall completely down and need help to get back up.
I want to DO whatever I can MYSELF to establish independence for myself, but it seems that the staff here wants to KEEP me in a helpless state and therefore dependent on them !   There are other, more critical issues to address about this facility that I will get to in another post.  Mean while , if YOU or any of your loved ones need a senior care facility, I would highly recommend that you DON'T take them to  12100 Reed Hartman Highway , Cincinnati , Ohio 45241.  Look up the name according to this address.
When or IF I arrive at an age or circumstance that would render me either physically or mentally unable to function at my current level of independence, ... then treat me like an infant.  Until that happens ,do NOT treat me like an infant.  Treat ME and everyone else living here as the individuals that we are.  ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL !
